Hockey Night In Barrie Grows Again

MP Patrick Brown is happy to announce that Hockey Night in Barrie IV has grown yet again with more celebrity additions set to lace up at the Barrie Molson Centre on August 11, 2011 to play in Barrie’s largest charity hockey game in support of Royal Victoria Hospital’s Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.

Recently confirmed participants include NHL Superstar Bernie Nichols and National Sports celebrity Rod Black. Returning NHL greats Gary Leeman, Shane Corson and Darcy Tucker have also confirmed. With Olympic figure skater Jennifer Robinson joining us as well, returning to her duties as an honorary coach.

“To have stars like Bernie Nichols and Rod Black come out and participate in this year’s event is fantastic,” said MP Patrick Brown. “These are two individuals who are true ambassadors of Canada. It is an honour to have them participate in Hockey Night in Barrie.”

This year’s Hockey Night in Barrie charity game has expanded by the addition of a daytime ball hockey tournament and BBQ. The goal is to give local businesses and community players the chance to play with a NHL’er and/or a Barrie Colt while raising money for the Royal Victoria Cancer Center. “This event will be just another great way to get the community involved in the exciting day,” said MP Brown.
