MP Patrick Brown is ecstatic to announce that Don Cherry will be joining the star studded line up at Hockey Night in Barrie III on August 12, 2010 at the Barrie Molson Centre.
“Don Cherry is a hockey icon in Canada, it is simply incredible and a testament to the growing success of this charity fundraiser that we have the symbol of hockey in Canada attending this event” said MP Patrick Brown.
The confirmation of Don Cherry is expected to sell out the remainder of the tickets so fans are urged to buy their tickets soon to avoid the disappointment of missing this tremendous event.
MP Brown is also happy to announce that Canadian “Our Lady Peace” rocker Duncan Coutts is set to lace the skates in the August 12, 2010 Hockey Night in Barrie Charity game being held at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Many may recognize Coutts as being the bassist for the Canadian rock band “Our Lady Peace” but he will take on a different role for Hockey Night in Barrie as he will exchange the bass for a pair of skates and a stick all for the worthy cause of raising money for the RVH’s Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Care Centre.
Canadian singer and actor Michael Burgess also announced late Tuesday afternoon that he will be joining the star- studded line up for Hockey Night in Barrie to sing the national anthem. Burgess is perhaps best known by avid hockey fans for his performances at Toronto Maple Leaf games where he frequently sings the national anthem.
However, the addition of Burgess shows that Hockey Night in Barrie appeals to all demographics as Burgess is also a huge name for those who are fans of the theatre for his role as Jean Valjean in the Toronto production of Les Misérables.
“To be able to have both Coutts and Burgess come to Barrie and play a key role in Hockey Night in Barrie is great,” said MP Brown “these are two well known Canadian musicians who are taking time out of their busy schedules to come out and support this worthy cause.”
Fans who are interested in attending the game are encouraged to purchase their tickets quickly as the Barrie Molson Centre is already 60% sold out. Fans can purchase their tickets at MP Patrick Brown’s office or at Ticketmaster.
