More NHL Stars Firm Up Participation at Hockey Night in Barrie IV

MP Brown is happy to announce the addition of Colorado Avalanche Centreman Ryan O’Reilly to tonight’s Hockey Night in Barrie line-up. “This year’s game is unique from any other due to the fact that we have so many current NHL players. It is going to make for a fast pace game which the fans will definitely enjoy” said MP Brown. Also lacing up his goalie pads will be Washington Capitals alumni Mike Rosati.

In addition to the hockey game itself, the Toronto Maple Leafs mobile fan zone will be set up in the arena with Carlton the Bear and numerous giveaways for fans in attendance. “The Toronto Maple Leafs are a hometown favourite so it makes sense that Leafs fans will be excited by this year’s line up of over 10 Leafs alumni as well as the mobile fan zone.”

Playing key roles behind the bench will be head coaches Eddie Shack, and “Iron Mike” Keenan. Shack is a retired NHL superstar while Keenan is a Stanley Cup winning coach. Serving as an assistant coach is former Leafs head coach Dan Maloney. We are also please to announce Mayor Jeff Lehman and MP Eve Adams as assistant coaches.

Recently confirmed for the community players section is President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada & Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Peter Penashue. Other confirmed community players are Paul Strachan from the Air Canada Pilots Association, Joe Johnson from Joe Johnson Equipment, and Barrie City Councillor Alex Nuttall. “This is the fourth year of Hockey Night in Barrie and each year community support grows larger and larger. These three community players have collectively raised $20 000 in support of RVH”, said MP Brown.
